D. Scott Adams has a long career in classical virology and veterinary diagnostics. After earning his D.V.M. in 1972 from Washington State University, Dr. Adams practiced veterinary medicine and taught at the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology at Washington State University, earning his Ph.D. in 1979 studying Pathogenesis and Immunology of Viral Caprine Arthritis-Encephalitis (CAE). From 1981-1985, Dr. Adams was Veterinary Medical Officer for USDA-ARS and Assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology at Washington State University. Meanwhile he started a veterinary diagnostic manufacturing business, VMRD, Inc, in 1980. After meeting John and Patricia Black, the founders of American BioResearch (now ABR, Inc) in 1985, Dr. Adams and VMRD worked closely and collaborated on many projects with John until his untimely death in 2006. At that time, VMRD purchased Amercian BioResearch and all operations were moved to Pullman, Washington. Dr. Adams oversaw the transitional period that included a complete review of all ABR SOPs and worksheets and implementation of GLP-compliant quality systems. Today, Dr. Adams remains involved in ABR’s day to day operations, ensuring continued commitment to quality and customer service. Dr. Adams has numerous publications in both refereed and non-refereed journals.

Dr. Chung has vast experience in classical and molecular virology, cellular and humoral immunology, and diagnostic assay development. Dr. Chung earned his D.V.M. degree in South Korea from Kyoungpook National University and worked as a public health veterinarian for one year after that. From 1992-1999 he worked as a Research Scientist on multiple virus projects at the National Veterinary Research Institute in Anyang, South Korea earning an MS degree from Kyoungpook National University in 1993. In 1999 he came to the United States, earning a Ph.D. in 2003 at the Washington State University in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology working with host CTL responses to equine infectious anemia virus under the tutelage of Dr. Travis McGuire. Then he did postdoctoral research on Simian Immunodeficiency Virus infection of rhesus macaques at the National Primate Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2004-2007. Most recently he worked in Fort Dodge, Iowa where he was Principal Lead Scientist in the Biotechnology and Vaccine Development Group of the Fort Dodge Division of Wyeth.

Dr. McGuire has a DVM from Texas A&M University in 1965 and a PhD from Washington State University in 1968. His thesis was on the immunopathogenesis of equine infectious anemia virus infection. Dr. McGuire became an Assistant Professor at Washington State University in 1968 advancing to Professor in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology in 1978 and continued in that position until 2005. During that time, he published 285 refereed research papers on immunology in scientific journals (see here by searching for "McGuire TC"), obtained NIH, USDA and Foundation grants for research, major professor for 20 PhD and 5 MS students and taught in various veterinary student courses.
